Ivermectin 1.1% Cream is a once-daily, clinician-prescribed topical that targets inflammatory bumps of rosacea on the face. It works by calming skin inflammation and reducing Demodex mite density. Our 1.1% is compounded per prescription; the FDA-approved reference product is ivermectin 1% cream for rosacea.
Clinicians may also consider off-label use for scabies, head lice, and acne/pimple bumps when appropriate. It is not FDA-approved for skin cancer—any cancer-related use must be dermatologist-supervised.
Topical ivermectin has low systemic absorption and is generally well tolerated. The most common effects are mild burning, dryness, itching, or irritation, which are usually temporary. Avoid eyes, lips, and broken skin, and use sunscreen daily.
For off-label uses (including any cancer-related use), discuss risks and benefits with your dermatologist and follow your prescriber’s directions exactly.
Ivermectin cream is valued for its dual action in rosacea—reducing Demodex mite density and calming skin inflammation—with low systemic absorption and once-daily convenience. Those properties make it an appealing option for patients who want targeted, skin-focused care.
Because of these effects, clinicians sometimes explore off-label use in select cases (such as scabies, head lice, or acne/pimple bumps). However, cancer-related use is not FDA-approved and should be considered only under a dermatologist’s guidance. Your prescriber will determine if this compounded 1.1% cream is appropriate for your specific needs.

On clean, dry skin, apply a pea-size amount to each facial area (forehead, chin, nose, each cheek) once daily. Spread a thin layer; avoid eyes, eyelids, lips, and inside the nose/mouth. Wash hands after. If directed for a non-facial area, follow your prescriber’s exact instructions.
Usually mild and temporary: dryness, burning/stinging, itching, redness, or irritation at the application site. Stop and contact your clinician if you develop severe irritation, swelling, hives, blistering, or signs of an allergic reaction.
Many patients notice calmer skin in 2–4 weeks, with clearer results by 8–12 weeks when used daily. Keep using as directed unless your clinician tells you to stop.
Yes—use a gentle cleanser, non-comedogenic moisturizer, and broad-spectrum sunscreen. If you also use actives (retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, benzoyl peroxide), introduce slowly or alternate days to minimize irritation. Apply makeup after the cream has fully absorbed.
Do not use on broken skin or if you’ve had a previous allergy to ivermectin or formulation ingredients. Pregnant or breastfeeding patients should use only if a clinician determines it’s appropriate.
